English: We read chapter 6 of Bridge to Terabithia today. Please study the following vocabulary words:
1.obsessed: to be the only person or thing that someone thinks or talks about 2.surplus: an amount that is more than the amount that is needed 3.grieve: to feel or show sadness 4.slithering: to move by sliding your entire body back and forth 5.prescribed: to officially tell someone to use (medicine, therapy, diet, etc.) as a remedy or treatment 6.grove: a small group of trees 7.splurged: to spend more money than usual on something for yourself 8.prancing: to walk or move in a lively and proud way Answer these questions on page 114:

1.Revenge: the act of doing something to hurt someone because that person did something that hurt you 2.Vigorously: done with great force and energy 3.Regicide: the crime of killing a king or queen 4.Pacing: the speed at which someone or something moves 5.Parapets: a low wall at the edge of a platform, roof, or bridge 6.Cuss: to use offensive words when you speak 7.Plunged: to fall or drop suddenly in amount, value, etc 8.Crimson: a deep purplish-red color History: we learned a lot about the 3 Chinese Philosophies. Today we learned about Qin Shihuangdi and whether he was an effective leader. Make sure to finish your notes and study for your test on Wednesday, May 6th.
